　‘root for~’는 ‘스포츠 팀 혹은 어려움에 처한 사람을 응원하다’는 뜻. “나는 롯데 자이언츠를 응원하고 있다는 “I am rooting for the Lotte Giants.”이다. “어느 팀을 응원하니?”는 “Which team are you rooting for?”이다.
