* act one's age 나이에 맞게 처신하다, 나잇값을 하다.
v. to behave maturely: to act like the adult that he/she is.
a) Dan's girlfriend told him to act his age and stop watching cartoons.
Dan의 여자친구는 그에게 나잇값 좀 하고 만화도 그만보라고 말했다.
b) Why don't you act your age? Stop running around in the house.
: 나이에 맞게 처신하는 게 어떻겠니? 집안에서 뛰어다니지 좀 말아라.
* act up 말썽을 피우다, 버릇없이 굴다.
v. to misbehave: to be bothersome or troublesome.
a) Let's get a babysitter for the children. We can't take them with us because they'll act up.
A: 애들 볼 사람을 구합시다. 워낙 말썽을 피워서 데리고 다닐 수가 없어요.
b) You should get a new computer. Your old one has been acting up for months now.
너 새 컴퓨터 한 대 사야겠다. 니 낡은 컴퓨터가 몇 달 동안 말썽을 피우잖아.
